A SPACE FOR YOU AND YOURS

Welcome to Soma Space

Soma was born out of the desire to create a haven for the local community; a warm, welcoming place where people of all ages could come to find space, connect with themselves as well as others, move, breathe and let go. A place where local children could explore and develop their creativity, and where their imagination would be ignited through movement and dance.

The name Soma was chosen because the word not only means “body” in Greek but also, more importantly, because, in ancient vedic traditions, it symbolises the divine nectar of life. It stands for body consciousness and wisdom, and it is a synonym for Shiva, the God of the Moon.

Soma aims to be a space where all these meanings converge; where through the physical practices of Yoga, Pilates and Dance, wholeness is fostered and fed. Where you will feel better, stronger and freer, and where children will grow in confidence and develop their own artistic voices.

In this newly refurbished, underfloor heated studio you will find bespoke props and furnishings, carefully considered design and a high calibre team of experienced, passionate teachers.

We aim to, with you, grow a space where calmness, joy, creativity and connectedness are cultivated.

“ The teachers are fantastic, dance class has become my son’s favourite part of the week.”

Lisa - Remy’s Mum

“ My child is really enjoying Creative Dance.  Each week she is getting more excited to attend, and seems more confident to try the different movements and express herself, due to the lovely nature of the teacher.  It’s a lovely, warm and welcoming space too.”

Nicky - Olive’s Mum
